In 1966 during the Pre-Olympic trials,
Onitsuka Tiger introduced a shoes 'Formerly known as the Limber'. Adorned with
the distinctive crossed stripes that are now synonymous with the brand. Two
years later they would garner global attention during the Mexico Olympic Games
and the shoe would soon be renamed the MEXICO 66. Nearly 50 years later,
the MEXICO 66 remains as iconic as it did when it first debuted.
The MEXICO 66 icon pack celebrates the
model's iconic status and features a few new design details: full grain
leather, gold foil side logo and the MEXICO 66 logo printed on the
sock liner.
The Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 was
the first shape that featured the TIGER stripes. This superb low sleek
silhouette comes in an upper of woven denim with a suede toe guard and a low
profile out sole. This popular style was first endorsed at the '68 Olympics'
and was worn by Bruce Lee in his film 'Game Of Death'. It has now garnered
considerable fame and well known by Onitsuka Tiger USA lovers.
